Build a J-pole - it'll match better and you'll waste less of your expensive RF energy!

We are an Island, and as you see from the pic I'm not far from the coast
We have wind sometimes, and I mean wind, when it blows.... it blows.... :o
This is the main reason I have been hesitant at building one ;)

The J-pole has practically no wind resistance!

Albert H ... :smoke
At this moment in time I have no spare time to build one as we have just moved and are and will be upside down for some time.
The other thing is...
I would have a problem tuning it because I have so much 96.8Mhz floating around the property all the time.

Question ?
Are these any good from www.superyag.com ?
https://www.superyagi.com/88-108mhz_jpo ... 84551.aspx
88-108mhz jpole antenna
+ they can pre-tune to my frequency ;)

So, if I got one of these the station down time would be kept to a minimum...

Is radio Brian a pirate ? And by looking alone the J pole looks like it is sturdily built.

It might be sturdy, but the dimensions are obviously wrong and the feed points are much too low down. If they're getting anything close to 50Ω, it must be a "complex" match and may be a "conjugate" match - unlikely to correctly match a 50Ω transmitter output and feedline.

It's quick and easy to build a sturdy, correctly-matched J-pole - especially after you've done the first one!

Albert I would love to build one but...

Like I mentioned before...
I could not build or should I say do any forms of testing at 96.8Mhz at my premises as the place is buzzing with strong RF every day.
So the hassle for me would be to find someone who would not mind me coming round to test an antenna :?
Plus I don't have an Antenna analyzer :o

I have one of them J poles, every time it rain the SWR went sky high, didn't have a Antenna analyser to fully test it but wouldn't use it again for transmitting, did look well made though.

Well. . . I decided to pass on getting on of them J poles

And. . . I'm still having good results with my Dipole ;)

Also ...
As I don't have the possibility to make or should I say to tune, test
or adjust my own antenna because there so much RF around the
place as ''Brian'' is on air all day every day.

So... I'm thinking for going for a Dominator
https://fmbroadcastantenna.com/dominator.html
Dominator.JPG
Expensive but...
It should come pre-tuned so Brian's off air time should be minimum.

And it looks OK in the rain...

Surely you can be off air for a few hours to tune up an aerial.

Well it's not only me...
Up the road +/- 90m away I have 99.6 - SER Maspalomas at 4KW :whistle

They blast directly into my antenna location :?
