"Time" is 50 Watts from a very favourable site into a properly matched aerial. It can be heard throughout east and south-east London, and well out into Essex and north Kent. It actually demonstrates what can be achieved at fairly low power with properly installed and calibrated equipment. Its primary Service Area is meant to be a 5km radius from the transmission point, but it achieves more than that, especially if the listener is prepared to switch to mono.

Well according to Frequency Finder (which evidently can be quite inaccurate) it's 406 watts.

I think Active FM might have been lower power back about 20+ years or so ago when it first came about from the office block in Havering, but as far as I'm aware its had at least one or two successful applications for a power increase due to co-channel pirate interference since then and gets out well from that location.

I thought when that first went on it's ERP was quoted at 340w... so an uplift to 400w seems far more reasonable... maybe Albert knows something we don't

The rig that was supplied to "Time" was an 80 Watt variable power box. OFCOM demanded that the power was reduced to 50W because of the elevation and antenna gain. Rumour has it that someone turned the power right up so that it's running close to 100W. The ERP is way over the power that was originally licenced! They are allowed to get away with this because of the continual interference they've suffered from the idiots on adjacent frequencies (and on top of them in the case of Raw!).

Hi,
Thanks for that information, I will advise the management. As it is, I think they can co exist without worries.
As far as I know, Time have not been in touch, there seems to be a happy medium, Just no more power lads! :(
The equipment used is to UK spec @ 100 Watts. The baby of the range. :)

Raw can up there power to 300w and i dont think it will affect time unless they come from high ground . I guess atm there doing 100 watts oj not a high location. There sound quality has improved just limited signal atm but best to test the water
