It might have switched off by then, because when I checked at 11 pm it had disappeared.

Here's a couple of recordings of the presumed Flex FM test transmissions from the evening of June 5th:

I haven't heard them since. Does anyone else know if they've been back?

That'll will be it surely I don't think flex has done anything on air yet and I have been in Hounslow tonight and nothing as I said before when it comes on it will be non stop also no chance it will be able to get heard in any part of Hampshire

LOL you do speak some right rubbish at times.

....So how come I could pick up Dream FM 107.6 back in 1996 in Aldershot, HAMPSHIRE when they were running just 60w with a single dipole on a 4ft broom handle pole from a block in Battersea using just a standard car radio?

Oh, and Nick_G isn't using a standard set up, he's got one of those BW Broadcast receivers with the ultra sensitive Sony XDR chipset and a 5 element Triax yagi.

And if Flex is going to be coming from the proposed site it is closer to Hampshire and on slightly raised ground with a better take off towards Hants (than what Dream FM Battersea was), and I expect Flex will get more than the 60w Dream was using at that time.
It wasn't under 'lift conditions' either as it was like it every weekend when I went to Farnham and Aldershot.

So there is every chance it could be heard in many parts of north east Hampshire.

107.6 in those days was a very clear channel and now classic fm is all over the 100 to 102 plus a few locals on as well 1 in pertculer like asIan star that is over moding very badly in Slough all the way down to 101.3 and up to 101.9 far worse than 106.2 in London I don't think anything in the classic fm zone gets very far I am waiting to see if I will be able to get 101.4 in Windsor Great Park

Asian Star is only 20w and on 101.6 which is a whole 200KHz away from 101.4 which is more than far enough away, Classic 101.3 is Oxford and 101.5 is out in East Anglia way which would not really affect it with a decent enough tuner or on most car radios.
I've said this to you before but it sounds even more like you really need to invest in a better tuner with much better seperation, because with a decent tuner like the Sony XDR or a simple Blaupunkt Ford car stereo you can pick up most stations 0.1 away from each other with little or no side-interference.

I have a Ford radio in my car and I have separation until I get near Slough when I go near any other local outfits none are as bad as the 101.6 for example I can pick up the African weak station on 106 and playback 105.6 and rinse when it was on and 88.6 b2b fm like I said before no one seems sure that flex has definitely done a test transmission yet

I just checked my Ford radio and it is blauplunkt model if you come anywhere near slough you will see for yourself how bad the 1016 is and it's distorted and sounds worse than the average pirate

Asian Star won't affect anything that's on 101.4MHz in Hampshire.

And because of Asian Star's small coverage area, 101.4 was perfectly fine to be allocated to Flex for West London.

I know there's something over the opposite side of London that's pirate on 101.3 but it doesn't get out very well so doubt that would be a problem either.

I didn't think it would affect Hampshire I just thought it would not have enough power and flex is much nearer than rinse to me but 106.8 is still a better frequency than 101.4 I should be able to get it where I am as it's only about 18 miles in a strait line but can anyone comfirm that they have been on yet I am sure that they haven't I have been to Egham hill today and definitely they were not on and reception there is excellent for most of London

I just remembered that I couldn't get the on fm station that used to be in Hammersmith but was that on really low power?
