Post by fuze » Wed Feb 04, 2015 3:17 pm

does anyone know how much power i would lose if say im using a 200 watt rig going into say about 80 metres of westflex 103 coax? would it be worth doing? As want to try a project putting a rig 80 meters away from the dipole.

You will get something over half that power on the other end of the cable (110w aprox). For that long lines, you must use semi rigid or even better transmission lines made from copper tubes...

Stick a decent double on the end of it and it will make up for your losses.
