wider spread? could in years to come, you could just pull out this device, link it to any audio and it reach out further than a few miles? I presume this guy only has it transmitting to his house and maybe a mile up the road?

I'd love to just pull up somewhere in a car, put some jungle on :D can this sort of thing be done though where the signal goes further?

I used to have a Nokia phone with built in FM transmitter about 4 years ago, it also had RDS but only came up with 'Nokia' on the display.
